RCIA
(Rite of Christian Initiation for
Adults)
Are you curious about the Catholic Church?
Don’t know if you want to be Catholic but want to know more about it?
Were you baptized but have had little or no religious education since
then?
RCIA is the place for
you!
First, this is a place to
have your questions answered. It’s a place to find out if the Catholic Church
is where God is calling you. Whatever your religious background, we welcome and
value it. The past for each of us is where we have been on our journey to God. We
invite you to grow in your relationship with God.
Our purpose is to help you
find out about the Catholic Church and, if it is appropriate, to assist in your
discernment about becoming a member. If that is your decision, we are here to
help in your preparation for the sacraments of initiation – Baptism,
Confirmation and Eucharist (Holy Communion). After these sacraments we want to
help you to be the best Catholic Christian you can be.
Mission Statement
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a rite by which those of catechetical age enter the Catholic Church. It is a faith journey that brings people together in community to renew heart, mind and spirit, guided by members of the parish who strive to live by the Gospel of Jesus. This is a personal journey to a deeper relationship with God tempered with the realization that each person’s gifts have been given to them to benefit the community. The enthusiasm of newcomers encountering Christ can have the effect of renewing the whole parish.
How long does it take?
This is a journey of faith so it
takes as long as it takes. For most it
takes eighteen months to two years. Some may want an additional period of time.
You will be a part of the decision to make each step on the way.
When can I start?
Anytime! If the Spirit is moving
you, we want you to be able to begin right away.
